About The Position

Join Apple’s growing UK GPU design centre and contribute to pre-silicon RTL verification for blocks in high-performance 3D graphics processor microarchitectures targeting low-power mobile devices and high-performance personal computers. The role requires understanding block-level microarchitecture and how each block operates within the broader GPU design. As a Graphics Design Verification Engineer, you will help ensure the quality of complex graphics IP designs. Using SystemVerilog, UVM, and scripting languages, you will develop test benches, generate tests, and run and debug simulations to achieve high-quality verification closure. With experience, you will take on increasing responsibility for creating and executing verification plans and negotiating program objectives with Architecture, Design, and Software teams. The role involves collaboration across functional teams and requires strong written and verbal communication.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of computer architecture; general-purpose microprocessor or memory subsystem microarchitecture may substitute for graphics experience.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, and Python.
  • Excellent planning, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Prior design verification or design contribution to complex IP at unit, subsystem, or top level.
  • Knowledge of verification languages and methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • A strong graphics background.
  • A preferred background in verification methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-silicon RTL verification of blocks in high-performance 3D graphics processor microarchitectures.
  • Develop test benches and generate tests using SystemVerilog, UVM, and scripting languages.
  • Run and debug simulations to drive complex graphics IP toward high-quality verification closure.
  • Create and execute verification plans as responsibilities increase.
  • Negotiate program objectives with Architecture, Design, and Software teams.
  • Collaborate with multifunctional teams to ensure the quality of complex graphics IP designs.
