About The Position

This role is for a Government Project Manager (PMP) with experience in Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), change management, and risk management. The project duration is 6 months with a 40-hour work week. The primary focus is on managing enterprise-level initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet customer expectations. This includes creating and maintaining project plans, providing status updates, supporting collaborative teams, overseeing projects to adopt a citizen/customer-focused mindset, partnering with state agencies, implementing project management improvements, measuring project success, and assisting program administrators with establishing repeatable processes.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • B.A. in Information Technology or related field.
  • 10 years of relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in management of large projects.
  • Experience with project management of large enterprise-level projects with proven implementation success.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining detailed project plans for enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Establishing and providing timely and accurate updates for project activities within the agency SharePoint portfolio tool.
  • Supporting collaborative teams across admin and state agencies.
  • Overseeing assigned projects within Admin to adopt a citizen/customer-focused mindset.
  • Partnering with state agencies, as assigned, to assist with project management related tasks.
  • Implementing continual project management improvement and adhering to industry best practices.
  • Measuring and reporting on the successes and business value of completed projects as directed by the Department's Strategic Plan.
  • Assisting program administrators with establishing a repeatable and adaptable process to manage, oversee and report on applicable projects.
  • Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts.
  • Establishing and implementing project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
  • Responsible for creating project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
  • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
  • Coordinating communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
  • Assisting Program Manager(s) in partnering with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities to achieve the goals of the enterprise.
  • Coordinating cross-project activities.
  • Formulating, organizing and monitoring inter-connected projects.
  • Monitoring and supporting deadlines, budgets and activities.
  • Applying change, risk and resource management.
  • Collaborating with agencies to provide recommendations.
  • Documenting all meetings attended, directives, and significant phone conversations.
  • Developing and delivering professional technical program updates to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Communicating with leadership (business and IT) to make them aware of program strategy, direction and changes.
  • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and recommending adjustments to project managers.
