A seasoned shipping and receiving logistics tech is needed to work in the exhibit and events department at Marshall Space Flight Center. The successful candidate will manage, track, and care for NASA artifacts and exhibit items such as outreach displays, banners, and flight hardware in our warehouse in support of the NASA Communication Services (NCS) Contract at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. This job will be 100% on-site. The candidate will use experience and judgment to plan, account for, control, care for, maintain, and manage shipping and receiving of both Government furnished and Contractor acquired government property in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations, FAR 52.245-1 and the NASA FAR Supplement 1852.245-71. Management of items includes shipping and receiving, equipment readiness checks, data entry in property management software, and keeping detailed lists of collateral. NSC property includes, but is not limited to: exhibits, space hardware, artifacts, artwork, models, electronics, shop tools, machinery, furniture, and materials. The successful candidate may also be asked occasionally to deploy those items at events or on-site. This position requires shipping and receiving of items on a daily basis, including following all compliance procedures. The candidate will assist with warehouse activities such as assistance with production of large format printing, inventory, assembly and disassembly of visual effects and artifacts, and following procedures to properly document inventory in and out of the facility. The successful candidate will also attend meetings, communicate with customers, and assist the shop manager and staff with estimates, shop upkeep, event preparation, and execution as needed. Must be able to drive a fork truck and work in an active warehouse around machinery and chemicals/paints.
