Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Government Relations Manager who is fueled by high accountability, execution horsepower, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond. Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Government Relations Manager to support its federal advocacy efforts and advance U.S. policy objectives related to the multiple space related business offerings. This role will engage directly with Congress, federal agencies, and industry stakeholders to help shape the regulatory and funding environment supporting Axiom Space’s missions and commercial space development. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Global Strategy, who oversees the government relations department, this position will require registration to lobby the federal government. This position is located at Axiom Space’s Washington, DC office with 25% travel anticipated.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional experience on Capitol Hill (e.g., congressional office, committee staff) or equivalent government affairs experience.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. space policy, including NASA programs, commercial space regulations, and relevant federal agencies (e.g., NASA, FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation, Department of Commerce).
  • Bachelor’s degree required (public policy, political science, engineering, or related field preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear policy narratives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position

Nice To Haves

  • Existing relationships on Capitol Hill are strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with budget and appropriations processes.
  • Experience supporting advocacy campaigns or legislative initiatives.
  • Interest in commercial spaceflight, aerospace innovation, and emerging space markets.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of Axiom Space’s federal government affairs strategy, with a focus on Capitol Hill engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with congressional offices, committees (e.g., House Science, Senate Commerce, Appropriations), and relevant staff.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on legislative and regulatory developments impacting commercial spaceflight, NASA programs, and space commerce.
  • Assist in drafting policy memos, briefing materials, testimony, and correspondence for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate meetings, briefings, and events with policymakers and industry partners.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, communications, and technical teams to ensure policy alignment and message consistency.
  • Supporting business development, sales, international government relations as needed.
  • Track appropriations, authorization bills, and emerging policy proposals relevant to Axiom Space’s business lines.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.
