About The Position

The Business Coordinator supports the Government Programs (GP) line of business, organization, strategy, goals, and objectives to achieve required line of business (LOB) performance. This includes our SafetyNet (Medicaid, Child Health Plus-CHP), Essential Plan (EP) and HARP, along with Medicare, DUALS and Individual Market products. This position is engaged in all facets of the GP business and organization to support effective and efficient performance across the entire organization to deliver on goals and objectives. The GP Business Coordinator may often provide administrative support to the Government Programs leadership and full team as needed.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of experience in customer service, marketing, financial analysis, or other relevant area or Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Five years of demonstrated experience in project coordination and a corporate business support environment, including administrative support at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated understanding of corporate office principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent administrative skills, sound judgement, and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing programs, projects, and operational tasks working with cross functional teams.
  • Experience managing administrative budgets and financials.
  • Well-developed verbal, listening, and written communications skills.
  • Considerable attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with some decision-making authority or as part of a team.
  • Independently motivated, with the ability to take on tasks and duties without immediate direction.
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities in a confident and diplomatic manner including peers, leadership, Board of Directors, executives, and staff.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with the Government Programs leadership regarding assigned GP business endeavors.
  • Leads and coordinates special projects or tasks for leadership as necessary.
  • Supports leadership in educating employees on company and business policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Assists the GP leadership team as needed and as required with the scheduling, calendaring, establishment of meetings and appointments, preparation of correspondence, proofs and edits of Government Programs business-related information, and all other business-related activities.
  • Administers new employee orientation and other GP initiatives, projects, and programs to advance the GP organization, roadmap and objectives.
  • Leads new employee onboarding, training, and integration to the Government Programs team and business.
  • Assists with internal and external GP business related inquiries or requests.
  • Acts as a liaison for Government Programs team with all internal teams and external BCBS association workgroups, regulatory agencies and external suppliers.
  • Government Programs business lead working with matrix teams to coordinate following key functions: Employee Engagement, Change Management, Retail/Resource Site administration, Contingent Workforce (CWO), Enterprise RIM (Records Information Management), AD&T and Security, Communication and Training, Member Engagement and Satisfaction, Business unit purchasing, travel and budgeting
  • Ensures effective utilization of plans related to GP programs and services.
  • This includes the coordination and effective use of plans and programs that support all key LOB forums (membership, finance, affordability, leadership team, etc.), Government Programs employee engagement and communications, internal cross organization administration/compliance functions, external BCBS Association, Regulatory and Policy functions, and member engagement and satisfaction activities.
  • Works independently and makes autonomous decisions while adhering to corporate guidelines and policies.
  • Remains knowledgeable of business unit and/or corporate policies.
