About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting with the background screening activities for the Aging Network within the Office of the General Counsel, while working with the Background Screening Coordinator and the Deputy General Counsel. This position is not a teleworking position, and the incumbent is required to report to the DOEA office in the area it serves.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to be organized and maintain file systems.
• Ability to proofread letters and emails.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Successful completion of a Level 2 Criminal History Background Check is required.

Responsibilities

• Scanning, placing the scanned images on the secured drive in a specified format, working with Excel database to update information, and sending letters as appropriate.
• Assisting the Background Screening Coordinator to ensure the work product is handled in a timely manner.
• Coordinating with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Federal Bureau of Investigations, and other state law enforcement agencies regarding screening results and the ongoing activities related to the FDLE Falcon Criminal History System and the Agency for Health Care Administration’s Clearinghouse.
• Serving as the back-up to the Background Screening Coordinator.
• Working cooperatively and professionally with Department staff, the public, and other state agencies and coordinating with background screening staff in other divisions to ensure a seamless process for applicants.
• Other duties as assigned.
