About The Position

The Government Lending Annual Servicing Manager Team Lead is responsible for managing the Annual Servicing Manager (ASM) team and actively participating in the process of requesting financial statements and completing annual servicing for the Bank's existing Government Loan Portfolio. This role also involves assisting with loan servicing action requests and potentially conducting site visits as needed. The position emphasizes taking ownership of tasks and challenges within the assigned role, contributing to the bank's steady growth and commitment to customer success.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience with Gov’t Lending or related field.
  • Knowledge of personal computer, Windows and Microsoft software applications.
  • Ability to prepare documents and compose business letters and memorandums.
  • Good knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and general office machines.
  • Working knowledge of the SBA SOP’s.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Cooperative and willing to assist coworkers and customers on a regular basis.
  • Effective listening skills demonstrated by the ability to listen to others talk (without interruption), understand them, and then propose solutions or make contributions based on the points made by others.
  • Possesses multi-tasking skills and be able to function well under pressure.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and respond to customer and coworker concerns regularly.
  • Patience and willingness to help others in solving problems while maintaining a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Management experience a plus, however not required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting is recommended in order to have a good understanding of financial statements and to make industry evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual servicing function of the Government Guaranteed Lending Unit, including coaching, teaching, and guiding other ASMs.
  • Request financial and other ancillary information from the Relationship Manager or Borrower to update the bank’s credit files.
  • Spread updated business and personal financial statements and complete a stand-alone and/or global cash flow analysis.
  • Prepare the annual servicing memo per established SSB guidelines and route it with the original credit approval memo to the SBA Credit Administrator.
  • Follow up on questions and open items with the Gov’t Lending Servicing Manager, Relationship Manager, Borrower, and/or the SBA Credit Administrator.
  • Submit risk rating changes via the current tracking system upon completion of annual servicing.
  • Perform weekly reviews of the SBA 7(A) loan past due report with the SBA Credit Administrator.
  • Maintain a month-by-month work log for SBA Credit Administrator and Senior Management review.
  • Update the SBA Credit Administrator on SSB Annual Servicing Metric compliance percentage.
  • Assist the SSB SBA Administrative Team with credit-related aspects of servicing memos as needed.
  • Reconcile the 1502 report to ensure all loans needing servicing are on the master list.
  • Complete CLAR loans twice a year.
  • Potentially complete site visits to Borrower’s place of business as needed.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide assistance to other employees through healthy and positive interactions.
  • Participate in marketing endeavors/efforts.
  • Continuously update skills by participating in professional training.
  • Seek opportunities to improve skills through cross-training offered by the Bank.
  • Accept other duties as assigned.
