Requirements

  • Expertise in government accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Ability to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and processes related to government contracts and grants.
  • Ability to provide technical accounting guidance and support to ensure compliance with government accounting standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting requirements related to government contracts and grants, including the ability to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate audits and other compliance activities related to government contracts and grants, including providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Ability to manage projects related to government accounting and financial reporting, including developing project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Proficiency in financial software, Excel, and other analytical tools, as well as knowledge of government accounting systems and databases. Knowledge of GAAP accounting requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, including the ability to identify errors and discrepancies in financial data.
  • Ability to lead and mentor accounting staff, as well as work collaboratively with other members of the accounting team and cross-functional departments within the organization.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (strongly preferred) or Finance
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of the ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce. The ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident (i.e., 'Green Card holder'), or a protected person (e.g., asylee, or refugee).
