About The Position

This ten-week paid internship is located in Chicago, IL. Project Coordinator Interns are responsible for actively participating in HCSC’s formal internship program that leverages your skills, knowledge, and capabilities while providing meaningful experience supporting business objectives and member-focused solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams in both business and technical areas, the Project Coordinator Intern will contribute to project work, analyze information, and support the development of solutions that address organizational needs. The Project Coordinator Intern is responsible for learning and applying specific aspects of the organization's processes, programs, and technologies while demonstrating increasing independence and ownership of assigned deliverables.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a master’s degree or higher-level degree with a focus in business administration or healthcare. Other related fields with comparable experience may be considered.
  • Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Available for the full duration of the 10-week program.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this role.

  • Passion and desire to learn about the health care industry and regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and an interest in how business impacts retail markets is a strong plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across projects and work with staff to complete tasks on time.
  • Practical, well-developed PC skills, especially Excel, Word, and Access.

Responsibilities

  • Own components of project work and deliverables with guidance from an assigned mentor and manager.
  • Conduct research, analyze data and information, and develop recommendations that inform real business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Support departmental initiatives that improve business outcomes and the member and client experience.
  • Develop and deliver a final internship presentation to department leadership covering the project, results, and recommendations.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of company business and comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, and applicable compliance policies.
