In this role you will lead a dedicated team, responsible for the coordination of agendas and minutes, statutory compliance responsibilities, civic functions, and other key City documentation including policy, local laws etc.

Requirements

  • Experience effectively managing a small team
  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret legislation
  • Sound research and analytical skills enabling interpretation of information
  • Ability to produce well-constructed and informative reports, pitched to a level appropriate for a busy local government
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite of products, intranet and web based software
  • High level of time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to understand relevant Acts and Regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake research, problem solve complex issues, and develop clear and concise briefing notes and discussion papers with supporting recommendations
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Council decision making process, agendas and minutes
  • Highly developed skills in people management

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Local Government is desirable for this role, preferably in a governance or senior administration role.
