About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Google Apigee Architect for a fully remote contract engagement with Whirlpool. In this role, you will own API strategy, architecture, and governance for enterprise integration initiatives, working directly with client stakeholders and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement API management solutions on Google Apigee (X, Hybrid, or Edge)
• Define API standards, governance frameworks, and enterprise best practices
• Develop API proxies, shared flows, and custom policies for traffic management, security, mediation, and caching
• Implement API security: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, API key validation, mTLS, threat protection
• Migrate legacy integrations to Apigee and modernize the API landscape
• Build CI/CD pipelines for API deployments (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, Terraform/Apigee CLI)
• Establish monitoring, analytics, and alerting using Apigee Analytics and Google Cloud Monitoring
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to integration development
