About The Position

The Golf Shop Assistant is responsible for daily golf shop operations and coordinates with the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf to provide exceptional guest service. The role supports established standards for guest satisfaction, sales, and financial performance, including maximizing the tee sheet and retail revenue. The assistant also supports tournament operations, communicates with staff about course operations, and helps maintain a clean, orderly shop and guest environment. The position requires a guest-focused approach, comfort working in a fast-paced public-facing setting, and availability for weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings as business demands.

• Passion for serving guests and supporting guest satisfaction.
• Able to balance priorities and assignments to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
• Consistently meet high work standards, with attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Good working knowledge of the golf business.
• Able to perform recurring lifting, reaching, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, grasping, and arm-hand coordination.
• Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to work weekends and holidays, mornings, and evenings as business demands.

Nice To Haves

• BA degree, college or university program certificate, or two to four years of related experience and/or training; an equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Golf Shop in achieving targets by maximizing the tee sheet and using golf shop-related systems efficiently.
• Welcome guests promptly and sincerely, assist them throughout their visit, thank them, and invite them to return.
• Answer the phone within three rings and provide friendly, courteous service, yielding to the guest.
• Assist with tournament operations as directed by the Tournament Coordinator and/or Golf Professionals.
• Maintain effective communication among staff regarding course operations.
• Lead by example in innovation, motivation, and engagement.
• Use suggestive selling to help guests obtain what they need for their golf round and use of property amenities.
• Help achieve retail revenue targets and explain Oki Golf program benefits to guests.
• Arrive in uniform and maintain a clean, orderly appearance and environment, including removing visible trash and clutter.
• Know hours of operation, pace of play, group event details, and the FAQ sheet.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
