About The Position

The Golf Pro Associate will be responsible for responding to guest requests for special arrangements or services, answering golfer questions about the course, and promoting and selling golf shop merchandise. This role involves opening and closing the golf shop daily, collecting golf-related fees, managing cash, running closing reports, and scheduling tee times. The associate will also communicate with various golf departments regarding tee sheet changes, maintain the cleanliness of golf-related areas, and ensure the accuracy of daily totals. Additionally, they will be responsible for stocking, tagging, and displaying merchandise, and notifying management of any important issues. A key part of the role includes teaching individual and group golf lessons in accordance with PGA/LPGA and Marriott standards. The position also requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, and providing excellent guest service. This includes welcoming guests, anticipating their needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking them with appreciation. The associate will communicate clearly and professionally, answer telephones with proper etiquette, develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and listen to employee concerns. They must also comply with quality assurance standards and use computers and POS systems. Physical requirements include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by supervisors.

  • At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to guest requests for special arrangements or services by making arrangements or identifying appropriate providers.
  • Answer golfer questions about course.
  • Promote and sell golf shop merchandise to customers.
  • Open/close golf shop daily.
  • Collect all golf-related fees from registered golfers.
  • Count, prepare, and deposit cash.
  • Run closing reports off the registers.
  • Schedule tee times for golfers.
  • Communicate with the starter, golf services, and golf grounds regarding any changes to the tee sheet.
  • Maintain cleanliness of golf-related areas (e.g., golf shop, hallways, locker rooms, common areas).
  • Total tee sheet and ensure accuracy of daily totals.
  • Stock, tag, and display merchandise on golf shop floor ensuring all merchandise is neatly arranged and restocked to proper level.
  • Notify manager/supervisor of any important issues as necessary.
  • Teach individual and group golf lessons in keeping with PGA/LPGA and Marriott standards.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
