About The Position

Assist the Golf Director on-site as needed with the management of golf operations including coordinating and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, supervising outside and inside golf staff, assisting with merchandising functions, assisting with tournament development and operations, organizing teaching programs, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and two years’ experience in Pro Shop operations.
  • 1–2 years golf industry experience preferred, with a minimum of one year teaching experience required.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to develop employees and foster a team environment.
  • Proficient in computer software including MS Office, Tyler Tech, Ascentis, Apple Developer, Gallus Golf App, Golf Genius Software, Operation 36 app and software, Club Prophet, etc.
  • Competency with organizing instructional programs and managing tournaments.
  • Merchandising and golf shop operational skills.
  • Ability to establish successful working relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to deal effectively with angry, irate, or disgruntled customers.
  • Must be physically capable of operating vehicles safely, possess a valid driver’s license, and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be a full-time resident of Colorado and hold a valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods; adequate eyesight, hearing, and speech; ability to operate necessary equipment; able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the golf/hospitality/service industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of golf industry software, golf brands, and organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees in the Golf Shop, the cart barn, and outside services.
  • Review and approve employee time sheets and submit them in a timely manner to the Town’s HRIS software.
  • Conduct performance reviews for all directly supervised employees.
  • Ensure that supervised employees meet all Town requirements for training, discipline, attendance, and performance.
  • Cover shifts in the Golf Shop during shoulder seasons or as needed.
  • Assist customers with inquiries, purchases, and product recommendations at the Golf Shop.
  • Maintain and update golf course rules, obligations of passholders, etc., and make sure they are posted or otherwise accessible to the public.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote golf tournaments and events.
  • Create and manage marketing campaigns across social media, email, and digital advertising.
  • Assist in creating marketing materials including brochures, flyers, banners, and online content.
  • Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with the team to execute marketing initiatives and promotions.
  • Coordinate tournament logistics including scheduling, player registration, and on-site operations when needed.
  • Ensure smooth execution of golf tournaments by overseeing event planning and on-site management.
  • Work closely with vendors, sponsors, and participants to deliver a successful tournament experience.
  • Manage communication with players, staff, and volunteers before, during, and after tournaments.
  • Handle post-tournament activities such as results reporting, feedback collection, and follow-up.
  • Support tournament operations by coordinating merchandise sales and promotions.
  • Process and verify incoming invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organized records of invoices and payments for financial reporting.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding invoice discrepancies or issues.
  • Prepare and submit invoices to clients or customers in a timely manner.
  • Organize and coordinate schedules for all teaching program sessions.
  • Assist in promoting the program to attract new participants and retain existing ones.
  • Provide support to instructors and participants to ensure a positive learning experience.
  • Maintain and update the golf course website and mobile app with relevant content and information.
  • Ensure a user-friendly experience for visitors and members.
  • Monitor online store orders and manage fulfillment for Gypsum Creek Golf Course.
  • Source and procure inventory items for the Golf Shop, tournaments, and teaching programs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure adequate stock availability and prevent shortages.
