About The Position

The Golf Maintenance Grounds Section Tender is responsible for maintaining the grounds and golf course. This includes cleaning, trimming, weeding, planting, watering, and caring for grass, plants, trees, and shrubs. The role also involves maintaining walkways and other outside areas, ensuring the proper use and maintenance of tools and power equipment, and performing various tasks related to the overall appearance and upkeep of the golf course. Additionally, the position may involve cleaning restrooms and assisting other departments.

Requirements

Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach for most of shift.
Ability to use hand and power tools during most of shift.
Able to lift/carry and push/pull tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to or over 50 lbs.
Must have the ability to communicate verbally to employees and department manager.

Responsibilities

Clean, trim, weed, plant, water and maintain grass, plants, trees and shrubs on the golf course.
Clean and care for walkways and other outside areas.
Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of tools and power equipment.
Responsible for the growth and care of ornamental plants, trees and grass.
Trim or remove small trees and shrubs.
Change tee markers, ball cups, wash water and may deliver ice water.
Perform other simple duties related to the maintenance of the golf course.
Mow, trim, edge, clean, plant, water and maintain turf, ornamental plants, trees, and shrubs on golf course.
Clean, edge, and maintain all walkways and cart paths on the golf course.
Report any problems with tools, power tools and equipment.
Trim small trees, lateral growth, volunteer suckers and shrubs.
Drive and service trucks and small vehicles under 1 ton.
Use of walk mower for all necessary greens and tees.
Move tee markers, tee divots, change cups and water in ball washers; remove rubbish and debris one course.
Consistent edging, fly mowing, cleaning and maintaining of sand bunkers on the course.
Remove, blow, rake all unwanted materials within the sand bunkers; includes removal of grass clippings, leaves, and cinders on a daily basis.
Remove unwanted weeds and unnecessary turf which includes occasional spot spraying.
Plant and add any necessary turf or ornamental planting.
Assist in special projects which includes aerifications, verticutting, planting, drainage, etc.
Report any irrigation problems.
Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
Perform duties following safety procedures and policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Clean golf course restrooms.
Assist other positions in the department.
