This position performs assigned labor tasks to assist in proper course and grounds maintenance of outside areas at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. The role involves manual labor such as shoveling, raking, operating lawn mowers, planting flowers, and trimming trees and shrubs. It requires the safe and proper operation of power or manual equipment to complete assigned tasks and the ability to work collaboratively as a team to achieve common goals. All weekends are required, with a standard 40-hour work week. Responsibilities include digging holes and trenches, laying sod, regularly cutting cups, hand watering turf, edging cart paths, sidewalks, and curbs, and maintaining bunkers by pulling weeds, adding sand, and redistributing it. Other tasks include fly mowing bunker faces, string trimming, leaf removal, and trash pickup. Employees are expected to report to work on time, complete all scheduled shifts, attend monthly safety meetings and department meetings, assist other departments when requested, and help train other employees on job tasks when necessary. A strong understanding and adherence to the environmental practices of the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa are required, along with maintaining good rapport with fellow employees and reflecting a positive attitude. All assignments must be completed, and employees must follow proper grooming and dress standards. Open communication with the direct supervisor is essential, and other duties as assigned will be part of the role.
