About The Position

A Golf Course Worker I performs hands-on, outdoor labor to maintain and care for the Pasadena Municipal Golf Club. The role focuses on keeping the course in good condition through mowing, irrigation, landscaping, and general upkeep.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Valid Class C driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Operates tractor to till, cultivate, grade new turf areas, mow rough and fairway areas at designated cut, exercising care not to injure turf or shrubs.
  • Operates hand or power mower to cut turf on green and tee areas.
  • Ability to drive various utility vehicles.
  • Connects hose and sprinkler systems at designated points on course to irrigate turf.
  • Digs and rakes ground to prepare new greens, grades and cleans traps, and repairs flowerbeds.
  • Plants, trims, and sprays trees and shrubs.
  • Reports maintenance needs to the Superintendent on a timely basis.
  • Works the assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policy.
  • Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements.

  • Civilian employees accumulate vacation at the following rates: Less than 6 years of service - two weeks of vacation per year. From 6 to less than 11 years of service - three weeks of vacation per year. From 11 to less than 21 years of service – four weeks of vacation per year. From 21 to less than 26 years of service – five weeks of vacation per year. From 26 years of service and up – six weeks of vacation per year.
