About The Position

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for supervising and managing all Pro-Shop operations, including staffing, scheduling, merchandising, inventory control, point-of-sale systems, and daily operations. This role supervises Pro-Shop employees, including hiring recommendations, training, performance evaluations, discipline, and enforcement of customer service standards. The Superintendent ensures Pro-Shop operations align with City policies, financial controls, revenue goals, and customer service expectations. They coordinate Pro-Shop activities with golf course maintenance, clubhouse operations, tournaments, and special events. This position works collaboratively with City management, staff, vendors, golfers, and the general public to ensure high-quality operations and customer satisfaction. Must have and maintain, without interruption, required certifications and licenses. Works assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policies. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Recreation Administration, Sports Management, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in golf operations, golf retail management, hospitality management, recreation management, or closely related supervisory experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as required by golf operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing a municipal or public golf course Pro-Shop.
  • Experience with golf course management software and point-of-sale systems.
  • Experience in merchandising, retail purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Experience organizing golf tournaments, leagues, and special events.

Responsibilities
