About The Position

Passionate about the day-to-day operations of our Golf Course Turf Care Department, you take pride in developing and leading a large team responsible for overseeing all agronomic programs associated with our Audubon initiatives and values environmental protection and sustainability. Requirements

  • A diploma or degree in Turfgrass/ Golf Course Management or a related field.
  • Experience in Golf Course / Turfgrass Management.
  • A strong understanding of agronomic practices and how they relate to the game of golf.
  • The ability to obtain First Aid Training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • The ability to obtain a Nova Scotia pesticide applicator license within 90 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHIMIS) .
  • The ability to collect and analysis data and input into a report.

Responsibilities

  • Allocate resources and equipment for crews to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records for all nutrient management, IPM, irrigation and environmental programs.
  • Assist with the scouting, monitoring and diagnosis of turfgrass pathogens .
  • Create and maintain daily schedule of duties; record and track all daily assignments.
  • Implement accurate inventory management tracking with regards to department resources and assets.
  • Assist with the monitoring of daily water requirements, maintaining the irrigation system and pump station.
  • Oversee the proper care, use and maintenance of cultural and product application equipment including PPE, with the assistance of the Assistant Superintendent & Equipment Manager.
  • Assist in the execution of the turf department operating budget with timely submission of Purchase Orders, tracking deliveries & invoices, logging receipts, and reports.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and productive work environment at all times.
  • Display responsible environmental protection practices.
  • Golf a minimum of twice per month to experience the golf course through the guests’ journey.
