About The Position

We are currently accepting applications for the Golf Course Superintendent position at My Old Kentucky Home State Park. This is a full-time position, offering numerous benefits with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and if you inquire about this job do not forget to ask about the Department of Parks "Park Familiarization Program" for full-time employees! A candidate with the appropriate experience and education will lead a group of golf course maintenance personnel to perform all tasks necessary to maintain and improve a very good golf course. This position requires a motivated individual that will employ a "hands-on" leadership style, and someone that enjoys performing all the tasks required to present our guests with a great golfing experience.

Requirements

  • Experience operating all equipment and performing all tasks associated with the maintenance of a golf course.
  • Creating and managing a budget and managing an agronomic plan.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Kentucky Pesticide License.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Time management.
  • Leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
  • Graduate of a college or university with an associate degree in plant science, turf management or a related field.
  • One year experience as a Golf Course Assistant Superintendent.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification.
  • Must obtain Kentucky Pesticide Applicator License within six months of employment.
  • The N-18 Pesticide Applicators License required by this position can be obtained by passing the test administered by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
