(Part-Time) Golf Course Mechanic
About The Position
Under the direction of the Golf Course Maintenance Supervisor or designate, this position primarily involves the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of all golf course maintenance equipment as well as park automotive equipment. The role requires servicing golf course, park automotive, and power-operated equipment. Employees will operate golf course equipment and/or vehicles to test their functioning. Specific tasks may include working on golf course equipment such as mowers and golf carts, adjusting brakes, aligning wheels, tightening bolts and screws, and reassembling equipment as directed.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and maintenance of an acceptable driving record.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to understand equipment operation instructions and shop manuals and to complete logs and records of work performed.
- Ability to use hand tools and manually controlled power tools requiring manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to stand, stoop and bend for extended periods and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to load, unload and move materials between work locations.
- Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
- Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors and park visitors.
- Ability to perform essential functions.
