About The Position

Northwood Club is a rapidly growing country club located in Dallas, Texas, established in 1946 and known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. The club is reopening its newly renovated championship golf course in April and holds an Emerald Designation from Distinguished Clubs of the World for outstanding member service. The staff includes professionals recognized in Tennis, Golf, and Culinary. This role provides daily maintenance and landscape services for the golf course and other areas as needed, focusing on mowing, blowing leaves, raking bunkers, clearing brush and tree damage, and using various tools for general landscaping.

Requirements

  • High school education; or up to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least age 18.
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the employee may be required to communicate with English speaking members or co-workers, the manuals for equipment the employee may use are in English).

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read a limited number or two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one and two step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe operation of any equipment used.
  • Responsible for mowing greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
  • Work closely with other golf course maintenance employee's performing job assignments.
  • Perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance, club grounds and construction. Raking, mowing, trimming of hedges, mulch, planting, watering, fertilizing, irrigation, dig holes, clearing debris such as fallen limbs and branches.
  • Raking and edging sand bunkers.
  • Ensure safe working environment at the maintenance facility, golf course property and with equipment.
  • Must be able to perform job activities in all phases of golf course and ground maintenance for the club property.
  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent implementing, and completing all duties, assignments and projects.
