About The Position

The Golf Course Equipment Operator is responsible for maintaining all golf course areas and the maintenance facility. This role involves the use of various hand-held and self-propelled equipment to ensure the grounds are kept in excellent condition. The operator will also be responsible for daily cleanup, equipment inspections, and spreading mulch. Safety is a key component of this role, requiring adherence to company safety programs and the use of personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to bend, stretch and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel and work in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Open to receiving feedback regarding performance.
  • Punctuality is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience on a golf course or construction site (including use of Heavy Equipment).
  • Operate equipment with precision and care.
  • Knowledge of golf rules and etiquette is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains all golf course areas and maintenance facility.
  • Operates hand-held equipment such as weed eaters, backpack and push blowers, edgers, dew whips, picks and pitchforks.
  • Operates self-propelled walking mowers, fly-mowers, rakes, shovels, core pushers, and levels lawns.
  • Operates utility cart in a safe manner, always keeping feet inside the cart.
  • Maintains sprinkler heads and valve boxes.
  • Maintains bunkers.
  • Maintains cart paths by edging and blowing.
  • Walks and mows Greens and Tees.
  • Performs daily cleanup of equipment and facility.
  • Blows Fairways and Rough.
  • Conducts regular inspections of equipment and reports any issues or repairs needed to the Equipment Manager.
  • Spreads pine and hardwood mulch 3 times per week, involving standing, loading/unloading mulch, and hand spreading.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervision.
  • Performs job responsibilities and operates equipment according to the company safety and training programs.
  • Uses personal protective equipment as trained and required (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe boots, sunscreen, gloves, seatbelts).
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Reports safety or hazard concerns to management.
  • Reports any on-the-job injury to management immediately.
  • Takes personal responsibility for safety every day.
  • Reports equipment issues to the Equipment Manager immediately.
