Golf Course Assistant Superintendent
About The Position
Lincoln Homestead State Park is seeking a Golf Course Assistant Superintendent to join their Golf Maintenance Department. This role involves working outdoors on a beautiful 18-hole golf course, assisting with agronomic operations, maintenance, and management. The park offers a team environment and opportunities for a rewarding career within Kentucky State Parks. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in golf course maintenance, agronomic operations, budgeting, pesticide application, landscape maintenance and design, golf equipment fleet maintenance, and irrigation repair and operation.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Two years experience working on a golf maintenance staff for a regulation golf course.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must obtain Kentucky Pesticide Applicator License within six months of employment.
- Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment.
Nice To Haves
- An Associate's degree in plant sciences or a Certificate of Turfgrass Management from an accredited university can substitute for ONE of the required two years of working experience.
Responsibilities
- Personnel management.
- Assist Golf Course Superintendent in all phases and agronomic operations on the golf course.
- Assist in developing long term plans, budgeting plans, and chemical programs.
- Lead staff in projects and routine maintenance activities.
- Irrigation repair, installation, and application to turf.
- Calibrate and operate the equipment necessary to apply chemicals and fertilizers.
- Ensure Parks standards and expectations are being met.
- Public relations and community involvement.
