About The Position

Congressional Country Club is seeking seasonal Golf Course & Grounds Interns for the 2027 golf season. This internship offers students practical, hands-on experience in golf course maintenance at one of the country's premier private clubs. Interns will help prepare the Club to host the 2027 KPMG Women's PGA Championship while supporting our commitment to providing an exceptional experience for members and guests. The 2027 class will also be the first group of interns to operate from our brand-new, state-of-the-art maintenance facility, which includes exceptional intern housing. Congressional Country Club, located in Bethesda, Maryland, is recognized as the #1 Platinum Club in the country and has a long history of hosting prestigious golf championships. Congressional will once again welcome the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in 2027. Through its partnership with the PGA of America, the Club will also host future championships including the 2029 PGA Professional Championship, 2030 PGA Championship, 2033 Senior PGA Championship, and 2037 Ryder Cup.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in-or an interest in enrolling in-an accredited two- or four-year turf management program
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to solve problems
  • Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to visually inspect golf course and clubhouse grounds conditions
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • A willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the daily maintenance of Congressional's two golf courses-the Blue Course and the Gold Course
  • Work closely with the Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents
  • Assist with daily golf course setup and maintenance
  • Learn fertilizer and pesticide calibration and proper application practices
  • Support irrigation troubleshooting and repairs
  • Develop skills in disease identification and turf management
  • Assist with water management on USGA and push-up greens
  • Gain exposure to equipment maintenance operations
  • Learn about clubhouse horticulture and grounds maintenance
  • Help prepare the Club for the 2027 KPMG Women's PGA Championship
