Golf Coach
About The Position
Five Iron Golf is seeking a Golf Coach to deliver high-quality golf instruction and build lasting relationships with members and guests. The coach reports directly to the General Manager of Performance and combines instruction with guest engagement, working with Social and Performance Teams to introduce golfers to lessons, fittings, and memberships. As the coach builds a client base and achieves performance goals, the role can transition into full-time instruction, supported by the Coach Development Program. Five Iron Golf combines golf instruction with technology such as TrackMan and Callaway Tour Fitting in an inclusive, hospitality-driven environment. Coaches serve as ambassadors for the community, helping golfers of all levels improve through personalized coaching and memorable experiences.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of golf industry experience or graduation from a PGM program.
- Strong understanding of swing mechanics, ball flight laws, and launch monitor data.
- Proficiency with video analysis and comfort using golf technology tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to golfers of all skill levels.
- Energetic, engaging personality and ability to facilitate fun, group-based learning experiences.
- Motivation to learn, grow, and help students achieve measurable improvement.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- One-on-one and group coaching experience.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- PGA or LPGA affiliation and/or graduation from a PGM program.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group golf lessons for players of all skill levels.
- Use TrackMan and other Five Iron technologies for data-driven coaching and custom club fittings in partnership with Callaway Tour Fitting.
- Engage guests during Golf Experience Engagement Time and promote lessons, swing evaluations, fittings, and memberships.
- Build and retain a loyal client base by providing welcoming, memorable, performance-driven experiences.
- Represent Five Iron Golf at corporate events by delivering instructional sessions.
- Maintain a lesson schedule that meets productivity goals and performance expectations.
- Use social media to promote coaching services and the Five Iron brand.
- Conduct junior clinics and support community outreach programs.
- Follow up with students to convert swing evaluations into ongoing lessons and achieve key performance indicators.
- Serve as an on-floor Performance Expert and engage with members to improve their overall golf experience.
- Participate in ongoing education and certification programs.
