About The Position

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Course Marshal or Golf Attendant is considered an asset
- Knowledge of golf and golf operations
- Smart Serve certification an asset
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Must be computer literate.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Friday Harbour is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
Responsibilities
- Welcome members and provide assistance with their clubs and other equipment
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the golf cart fleet, including washing and parking of golf carts
- Perform maintenance duties including, raking practice bunkers, range upkeep, cart storage area upkeep, and maintaining bag drop area
- Maintain the cleanliness of the Clubhouse and its surroundings
- Assist with food and beverage set up and tear down when required
- Responsible to ensure that all rules and regulations of golf course are being followed to create a safe and friendly environment
- Respond to golfer questions, requests or concerns and resolve in a timely manner
- Direct golfers around the course if they are unfamiliar with the course layout
- Inform golfers of course policies and if someone is in violation address immediately
- Track pace of play and update Pro Shop/Starter of pace times
- Record and report all accidents, property damage or infractions to Clubhouse Manager
- Encourage players start promptly, recording the start time and the number of the carts and players names
- While on course pick up any garbage and straighten stakes, cart directional signs and ropes, replacing or adding if necessary
- Adjust as necessary, if fairway entry and exit points have mud tracks
- Ensure all members/guests feel welcome, are given responsive, friendly and courteous service, and that all situations are handled in an expedited manner
- Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
- Adhere to all environmental policies and program as required
- Other duties as assigned
