GNSS DSP Engineer

ArcfieldLouisville, CO

About The Position

As a GNSS DSP Engineer, you will be a key technical contributor to OSS programs and products. This exciting role, on one of our newest and most exciting programs, will lead technical development of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) software and algorithms running on edge processing nodes. Your design will run on GNSS remote sensing payloads in orbit, collecting actionable Earth Observation data using GNSS radio occultation and reflectometry techniques. This role serves as a conduit between mission management, instrument specialists, and engineers involved in this mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or computation field plus 10-12 years, MS plus 8-10 years, or PhD plus 5-7 years of professional experience in aerospace or relevant engineering (mathematics, physics, atmospheric science) discipline positions for high-reliability space & aerospace applications.
  • General expertise in digital signal processing techniques and their real-world application.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing and testing tracking of GPS and other GNSS signals, especially open loop tracking for GNSS radio occultation.
  • Hands-on experience with writing software for GNSS software-defined radio.
  • Proficiency in Python, C and C++.
  • Adherence to modern software development practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in technical reports and presentations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep knowledge of the signal properties of GPS, Galileo, BeiDou, and GLONASS systems.
  • Experience with calibration of GNSS radio occultation and reflectometry data products.
  • Experience with orbit determination and estimation methods: POD, Klaman filtering.
  • Understanding of GNSS receiver signal chain (antenna to processor).

Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of signal processing for spaceborne GNSS remote sensing applications, including GNSS reflectometry (GNSS-R) and radio occupation (GNSS-RO).
  • Work with cross functional team which includes embedded software engineers, FPGA engineers, application engineers and systems engineers to develop the design through the lifecycle (from requirements, to development, to design verification and validation, test and on-orbit operations).
  • Be the key subject matter expert on GNSS receiver software during internal meetings and external reviews with the customer.
  • Participate in external and internal customer-facing presentations, formal design reviews and business development activities.
