About The Position

The Defense group at Leidos has a career opening for a System Administrator to take the role of GMS Tier III Manager on a DISA contract. This role is primarily on the customer site at Scott AFB, IL. The site lead will manage a team of 8-10 personnel providing support for assigned systems supporting Global Management Systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 12+ years of overall related experience with a Windows/Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Windows, Linux, and Solaris Server experience with an expertise in at least one.
  • Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI practices
  • Currently possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret
  • Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce.

Nice To Haves

  • Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.
  • Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus.
  • Experience with a ticketing system such as ServiceNow
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certified

Responsibilities

  • Directly report to Service Delivery Program Management on all technical and personnel concerns
  • Perform Leidos supervisory duties for a team of 8-10 personnel. Provide guidance and direction for personnel issues including completing performance feedback, annual reviews, salary recommendations, corrective action, disciplinary actions, submission for awards and recognition, etc…
  • Provide input on budget and resource assets.
  • Assisting in hiring processes for multiple labor categories as required
  • Provide effective technical leadership for the team managing and sustaining a Lab environment.
  • Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages.
  • Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times.
  • Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements.
  • Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed.
  • Interacts with Tier II support and evaluates vendor products.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
  • Application of security settings and other commercial best practices.
  • Provides coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff.
