About The Position

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Manager is a hands-on operational leader responsible for executing and standardizing core administrative functions across the GME enterprise. This role emphasizes personnel management, coordinator onboarding and training, accreditation readiness, and budget oversight to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient program operations. GME programs include Anesthesiology, CAP Fellowship, Emergency, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Surgery and Traditional Year. Total Residents 148.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or two years of management/leadership experience.
  • Experience in Graduate Medical Education.
  • Job may require frequent travel within the boundaries of the Kaweah Health.
  • Must have reliable transportation available throughout the work day.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license, transportation, and auto insurance.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to function independently, use discretion, work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in ERAS, NRMP, ACGME WebADS and web based residency management system(s).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exercises good judgment, discretion and diplomacy in communications.
  • Ability to make decisions timely and independently or to escalate issues as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Resident/Fellow Physicians in their work as employees of Kaweah Health.
  • Serves as a liaison with Program leadership regarding performance and behavioral issues by Residents/Fellows, including issuance of initial written warnings, performance improvement plans and progressive discipline.
  • Establishes clear role expectations, workflows, and performance standards for all trainees at Kaweah Health.
  • Addresses personnel issues promptly and partners with the Director of GME and Human Resources as needed, including all progressive discipline at a Level 2 or higher.
  • Ensures consistent application of institutional policies across programs.
  • Builds and executes a standardized onboarding program for all new coordinators.
  • Develops practical, role-specific training on daily operations, systems, and compliance requirements.
  • Creates and maintains onboarding materials, SOPs, and reference guides.
  • Monitors coordinator competencies and provides ongoing coaching and development, and remediation when needed.
  • Promotes consistency and reduces variability across programs.
  • Operationalizes accreditation requirements into clear processes and checklists.
  • Maintains continuous survey readiness across all programs.
  • Tracks compliance elements, deadlines, and documentation requirements.
  • Conducts internal audits and mock reviews to identify gaps.
  • Works directly with program teams to close deficiencies and sustain compliance.
  • Supports development and day-to-day management of GME budgets.
  • Tracks expenses, reconciles accounts, and ensures adherence to budget parameters.
  • Assists with financial reporting and variance tracking.
  • Identifies inefficiencies and implements cost-conscious operational practices.
  • Oversees the Wellness and Wellbeing programs, including benefits.
  • Oversees and monitors wellness programs for GME programs.
  • Oversees all use of program level wellness funds.
  • Supports residents/fellows in their wellness and provides resources.
  • Oversees the resident/fellow benefits.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
