In this role, the Global Trade Operations Specialist will analyze products according to rules of origin, gather and organize data, communicate with stakeholders, assign country of origin to Medtronic's products, generate certifications, and maintain master data and records. The position also supports global supply chain projects and trade-related data needs. Medtronic brings bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first. In-person exchanges are invaluable, requiring a minimum of 4 days a week onsite at the Minneapolis, Minnesota site to foster professional growth and cross-functional collaboration. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience in trade operations, supply chain, or operations (OR an Associate's Degree with 2+ years experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 1+ year(s) experience).
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Engineering, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of international trade regulations, including Custom's Rules of Origin.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret manufacturing, sourcing, and supplier documentation.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and master data in support of regulatory or compliance processes.
  • Proficiency with standard business tools and systems (e.g., Excel, reporting tools, ERP or trade compliance systems).
  • Ability to follow established procedures while identifying opportunities for incremental process improvement.
  • Ability to identify issues that are not immediately evident and apply sound judgment to resolve moderately complex problems.
  • Ability to make data‑driven recommendations and implement system or process enhancements as needed.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal cross‑functional partners to gather information, clarify requirements, and support decision‑making.
  • Comfortable presenting information, metrics, and findings to peers and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze product, manufacturing, sourcing, and supplier documentation to support international trade and import compliance activities.
  • Apply Rules of Origin and related trade regulations to determine and validate country of origin for Medtronic products.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit‑ready records, including assessment rationale and master data, to support import claims and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute work in accordance with established procedures and independently recommend updates to work instructions to ensure regulatory and policy alignment.
  • Partner with internal cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders to obtain information, resolve issues, and support compliance decision‑making.
  • Manage daily workload independently to meet defined performance metrics, service levels, and timelines.
  • Prepare and deliver recurring operational and compliance metrics and reports.
  • Track and support workflow approvals to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Perform peer reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
  • Provide country‑of‑origin guidance for new product development and product changes.
  • Develop and maintain standard templates, tools, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare and present materials to support moderately complex business cases and compliance assessments.
