About The Position

IFF is a global leader in food ingredients, flavors, fragrances, and health & biosciences, delivering sustainable innovations that elevate everyday products. The role is based in New Century, KS (Hybrid 3x a week) and is part of a collaborative, detail-oriented, solution-focused, and growth-oriented team. This position supports customs operations for the United States and Canada, coordinating import clearance activities and handling customs broker inquiries. The role requires familiarity with customs regulations, country of origin, free trade agreements, and customs documentation requirements. Responsibilities include reviewing customs entries, supporting post-entry activities, assisting with duty drawback and recovery programs, and monitoring customs holds, examinations, and government agency requests. The associate will also support trade compliance, sanctions screening, and export control processes, as well as SAP, SAP GTS, and related trade compliance systems, preparing compliance reporting like ACE and CARM. Additionally, the role involves supporting audits, procedures, training, continuous improvement initiatives, and Free Trade Agreement qualification support and record retention. Coordination of trade compliance documentation from stakeholders and support for trade controls operations, including denied party screening, sanctions screening, and export control process execution, are key aspects. The role may also involve supporting global trade controls activities beyond North America. Maintaining audit-ready files and compliance records is essential.

Requirements

1-3 years of experience in trade compliance, customs operations, logistics, supply chain, import/export operations, or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience supporting customs compliance activities.
Ability to maintain accurate compliance records.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SAP GTS, SAP ERP, ACE, CARM, or similar systems.
Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements, export controls, and sanctions screening.
Experience working with customs brokers and global stakeholders.
Prior experience with export controls, sanctions screening, or denied party screening is preferred but not required; training and guidance will be provided as part of role development.

Responsibilities

Support customs operations for the United States and Canada.
