About The Position

As part of the Technical Support team at LGC Proficiency Testing, Inc. (LGC PT), the Global Technical Specialist supports daily activities related to LGC PT’s clinical proficiency testing programs. The role provides technical support to proficiency testing participants, helps coordinate program rounds and shipping schedules, and assists with program administration, technical documentation, and review of reports and statistical evaluations.

The specialist also monitors technical developments in clinical laboratories to help identify new proficiency testing products in response to industry needs. The role supports compliance with ISO/IEC 17043 through document control and related activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent.
• ASCP certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line email support to proficiency testing participants regarding technical questions and requests involving the PORTAL reporting system, result submission, and report interpretation.
• Support the Global Technical Manager in planning, coordinating, and maintaining proficiency testing round and shipping schedules.
• Assist with proficiency testing program setup, customer order management, and round configuration in IFS and PORTAL.
• Assist with creating and reviewing technical documents, including participant instructions.
• Assist with reviewing and approving statistical analyses and evaluation decisions, including technical summaries, expert commentary, and interpretive content for program reports as needed.
• Maintain awareness of technical developments in clinical laboratories and help identify new proficiency testing products in response to industry needs.
• Maintain familiarity with ISO/IEC 17043 and assist with compliance using appropriate document control measures.
