About The Position

Alexion-AstraZeneca Rare Disease is seeking rising undergraduate juniors and seniors majoring in Tax, Accounting, or a related field for a 10-week internship at its New Haven, Connecticut site, from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. The intern will support tax planning, administration, and compliance activities, including tax research, corporate tax projects, tax documentation, tax-return data gathering, audit support, and transfer-pricing reporting. The role requires onsite attendance in New Haven 3–5 days per week and does not provide relocation assistance or CPT support.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or rising senior majoring in Tax, Accounting, or a related field.
• Have an expected graduation date after August 2027.
• Have strong computer skills and functionality with Microsoft Office 365.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to handle multiple assignments and work independently for periods of time.
• Be enthusiastic about collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
• Have U.S. work authorization at the time of application.
• Be able to report onsite to the New Haven, Connecticut site 3–5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic U.S. federal and state tax research using RIA Checkpoint on issues affecting the company.
• Support corporate tax projects and initiatives.
• Assist with drafting tax transactions related to legal documents.
• Document changes to the tax structure resulting from acquisitions and other transactions.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
• Assist in coordinating the gathering of information needed to prepare the company’s tax returns.
• Engage with the Global Tax Master Service Provider on aspects of global tax compliance.
• Support the gathering of information and preparation of supporting materials for state income and franchise tax audits.
• Assist with arranging information and drafting documentation for transfer-pricing reports.
