About The Position

AbbVie is seeking a Global Supply Chain Intern for its 11-week paid summer internship program. This program is designed for undergraduate students to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry, contributing to meaningful projects that support the delivery of innovative products to patients worldwide. Interns will receive mentorship, networking opportunities, and leadership engagement, developing technical, analytical, and leadership skills within a global supply chain environment. This internship can serve as a pathway to future manager-level roles within Supply Chain and is a foundation for long-term career success at AbbVie. Interns will work on projects such as improving flow planning, analyzing warehouse operations, conducting planning initiatives, identifying logistics improvements, developing data-driven recommendations, and supporting operational excellence. Potential areas of experience include Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Brand Management, Logistics and Distribution/Warehouse Operations, Supply Chain Data & Analytics, Patient Access Operations, and Process Improvement and Operational Excellence. AbbVie actively considers high-performing interns for full-time roles after graduation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree program in supply chain, business, engineering, or related major / discipline
  • Enrolled in a university for the semester following the internship and expected to graduate within one year after completing the internship
  • Expected graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028
  • Demonstrated leadership through extracurricular activities, academic projects, employment, or other experiences
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Minimum cumulative GPA = 3.0/4.0

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to manage complex problems and drive actions through completion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with SAP or a similar business system
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI for dashboards and data insights

Responsibilities

  • Analyze supply, demand, inventory, logistics, and operational data
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and operational performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to develop solutions
  • Prepare project updates as assigned and present recommendations to business stakeholders
  • Engage with company leaders to learn about AbbVie’s strategy, business, and future
  • Build a professional network through social events, educational sessions, and intern activities
  • Present project accomplishments and recommendations to AbbVie leaders at the conclusion of the internship
  • Improve flow planning for finished products, raw materials, or finishing supplies
  • Analyze warehouse and/or vendor operations, systems, or performance
  • Conduct demand or supply planning initiatives
  • Identify inventory or logistics improvement opportunities
  • Develop data-driven recommendations to improve supply chain processes
  • Support operational excellence initiatives by identifying process improvements, reducing inefficiencies, and developing solutions to improve business performance
