About The Position

The Global Sourcing Specialist III is responsible for executing global sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and expediting activities that support power generation projects. This role manages supplier sourcing, quotation evaluations, purchase order execution, delivery performance, and supplier coordination to ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in accordance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements. Working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Logistics, and suppliers, the Global Sourcing Specialist III plays a key role in supporting project execution, mitigating supply chain risks, and driving supplier performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, supplier management, expediting, or supply chain execution.
  • Working knowledge of procurement, sourcing, supplier management, and material control processes.
  • Experience supporting supplier negotiations and purchase order administration.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, schedules, and contractual documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with SAP or other ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and standard business applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sourcing and procurement activities for assigned commodities, equipment, and services in support of project requirements and business objectives.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs) in accordance with established sourcing procedures.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations and support commercial negotiations within delegated authority.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, revisions, and amendments utilizing SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Support supplier qualification, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with contractual, technical, commercial, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor supplier manufacturing progress and delivery schedules using Master Delivery Reports (MDRs) and supplier updates.
  • Expedite supplier documentation to support engineering reviews, quality inspections, and shipment milestones.
  • Identify delivery risks and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Review shipping documentation, packing lists, and bills of material to verify shipment accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate release-to-pack, release-to-ship, logistics notifications, and site delivery activities.
  • Support resolution of overages, shortages, damages (OS&D), invoice discrepancies, and other supply chain issues.
  • Track supplier delivery performance, including On-Time Delivery (OTD) metrics.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Project Management, suppliers, and site teams to ensure successful procurement execution.
  • Communicate procurement status, supplier performance, risks, and recovery actions to internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in supplier meetings, project reviews, and cross-functional planning sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental objectives.
