About The Position

The Global Security & EHS Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of global security programs, while providing strategic leadership and governance over the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) function. This role has direct ownership of global security, including building and standardizing programs, leading incident response, and establishing enterprise-wide policies and practices. In parallel, the role provides oversight and direction to EHS, ensuring consistent standards, effective processes, strong safety culture integration, and accurate reporting across all regions. The position plays a critical role in global integration efforts, aligning legacy practices, strengthening Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), and ensuring leadership has clear, actionable visibility into both safety and security performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Security, Environmental Health, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Progressive leadership experience in security and/or EHS roles within a multi-site or global environment.
  • Proven experience building or transforming programs (security strongly preferred).
  • Strong project management experience, including global planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across regions and functions.
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting to leadership and executives, and effectively communicating with plant leadership, executives, and frontline team members.
  • Familiarity with access control systems, surveillance technologies, and incident management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global security strategy, standards, and governance model.
  • Lead the build-out and standardization of security programs across all facilities, beginning with Michigan and scaling globally.
  • Conduct and oversee security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
  • Design and implement security systems and processes, including: Access control and badging, Surveillance systems, Visitor management, Guarding strategies, Incident response protocols.
  • Lead and support security incident response and investigations globally.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce global security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Create and manage security budgets, including ROI-based recommendations and capital planning.
  • Lead execution of security-related projects, ensuring scalability and consistency across regions.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the EHS function across all regions.
  • Ensure consistent EHS standards, frameworks, and expectations are established and maintained globally.
  • Oversee the development and alignment of EHS policies, procedures, and standard work (developed through the EHS team).
  • Ensure a standardized approach to safety investigations, including process, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Drive integration and sustainability of Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs across facilities.
  • Partner with EHS leaders and plant leadership to strengthen safety culture and accountability.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements while maintaining global consistency.
  • Define and standardize global security and EHS metrics aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Ensure accurate, consistent reporting across all regions.
  • Develop dashboards and executive-level reporting to provide visibility into trends, risks, and performance.
  • Analyze data (incidents, near misses, security events) and drive proactive, data-driven recommendations.
  • Support global integration efforts, aligning security and EHS practices across legacy organizations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to leadership across the U.S., Canada, and international locations.
  • Partner with HR, Operations, IT, Legal, and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Balance global standardization with regional operational needs.
  • Develop and deploy global security training programs and awareness initiatives.
  • Oversee EHS training strategy and ensure consistency in delivery and content across regions.
  • Reinforce leadership accountability for both safety and security practices.
  • Conduct site visits to support implementation, training, and adoption.
  • Identify enterprise risks related to security and safety and prioritize mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure alignment between security and EHS to reduce overall organizational risk.
  • Drive continuous improvement through audits, reviews, and lessons learned.
