About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: Serves as a key resource in developing and supporting global marketing and sales strategies for current and future business opportunities for the product line. Develops strategic plans and moderate to long-term goals in support of business objectives. Global role, all MML products within the Product Group.

Requirements

  • Completed Business Management or Engineering studies (Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field)
  • Several years of working experience in Product Management for the automotive market mandatory
  • High degree of integrity, self-motivation and the capacity for teamwork
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills and high customer orientation
  • Experience in leadership and entrepreneurial approach
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Travel Requirement up 30%

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with internal contacts (i.e. Product Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales.) across all regions in support of new business development projects.
  • Gathers information and facilitates team meetings.
  • Monitors, reviews and critiques progress of projects, etc.
  • Coordinates product development work with customer’s groups such as Design, Engineering, Product Planning Group, Product Line Management, and other areas
  • Understand Global Customer & Market needs to define a robust Global strategy
  • Identify Engineering and Process gaps or needs globally
  • Define a Global Foot Print strategy based on Customer, Technology Complexity and Competitive
  • Upholds the principles of the Magna Employee’s Charter, Magna’s Operational Principles, Magna’s Environmental Health and Safety Policy & Procedures, MML Quality Policy, Program Execution Process and Business Protocols.
  • Must understand and respect the laws and cultures in countries which Magna conducts business & Magna compliances.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Develop, implement and maintain the global strategy and coordination of global quotations for defined commodities
  • Work with cross-functional organization to establish and facilitate maintenance of competitor assessments (both business and technical) and to take appropriate actions to penetrate into these market segments
  • Work with cross-functional organization to assess and identify market trends and their impact on the defined strategy
  • Define the Statement of Work to support the product and platform strategies and obtain organizational buy-in
  • Involvement in global, and sometimes regional, customer negotiations, including recommendation for pricing strategies
  • Prioritize issues and make decisions within the guidelines of the defined business processes
  • Oversee the management of project and product budgets, schedules, scope and issues including financial management and risk management
  • Monitor and report on global projects, providing status and performance against specified metrics to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Budget responsibility
  • Must understand and comply the laws and cultures in countries which Magna conducts business & Magna compliances.
  • Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed
  • Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards
  • Review and adhere to MML’s health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies
  • Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues
  • Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment
  • In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act
