Global Portfolio Content Activation Lead, Director

Pfizer•New York City, NY

About The Position

The Global Portfolio Content Activation Lead will be responsible for leading the translation of business and brand priorities into integrated capability experiences that prepare customer-facing colleagues to perform effectively across Pfizer's portfolio. This is a single, portfolio-wide role — one connected activation strategy across the full portfolio, not aligned to an individual therapeutic area. The Director partners with the TRIAD, Business Units, Customer Engagement Training (CET), Launch Excellence, and Brand Delivery to build activation plans, learning journeys, and content strategies that support capability development and field performance. Solutions are designed for enterprise reuse, global scalability, and local relevance. This role owns portfolio intake, prioritization, activation planning, content orchestration, and experience design. Business strategy, portfolio strategy, capability architecture, launch execution, training delivery, and performance measurement infrastructure remain with their respective owners — the TRIAD, Business Units, Launch Excellence, CET, and GCET Measurement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant work experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, market strategy, healthcare consulting, customer engagement, or a related field.
  • Significant experience translating business, brand, or portfolio priorities into capability solutions, learning experiences, or content strategies within a complex global environment.

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across highly matrixed organizations.
  • Experience working with internal teams, external vendors, and digital platforms.

  • Ability to synthesize complex business, market, customer, and content information into clear activation recommendations.
  • Ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple levels, functions, and geographies.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting global commercial learning, customer engagement training, or capability development across U.S. and international markets.
  • Experience supporting launch readiness, field enablement, or capability activation initiatives.
  • Experience managing external vendors and operating within mixed internal/vendor delivery models.
  • Knowledge of adult learning, coaching methodologies, human-centered design, and agile delivery approaches.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary activation partner to Business Units, the TRIAD, CET, and Brand Delivery on capability priorities, content investment, and activation sequencing.
  • Translate business and portfolio priorities into one coordinated capability, content, and activation roadmap.
  • Identify capability gaps, readiness risks, and activation dependencies, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Design connected learning journeys — content, practice, coaching, reinforcement, and performance support — that build real field capability, not just information transfer.
  • Integrate product knowledge, disease-state education, competitive intelligence, and market/customer insights into cohesive experiences.
  • Apply established capability frameworks and learning standards to portfolio priorities, without owning enterprise capability architecture.
  • Select the right mix of modalities — instructor-led, digital, coaching, simulation, microlearning — based on outcome, audience, and scale.
  • Own portfolio-wide intake, prioritization, and routing of capability and content requests.
  • Decide build-vs-reuse-vs-adapt for each need and govern the content lifecycle from creation through retirement.
  • Design for enterprise reuse and global scalability, partnering with regional and market teams to reduce duplication.
  • Maintain visibility into portfolio status, dependencies, capacity, cost, and risk.
  • Apply AI-enabled solutions to enhance content development, insight curation, personalization, simulation-based learning, and activation efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate content creation and adaptation while maintaining quality, compliance, and governance standards.
  • Partner with Digital, Analytics, AI, and GCET stakeholders to incorporate AI-enabled capabilities into activation strategies.
  • Ensure AI-supported processes align with Medical, Legal, Regulatory (MLR), GCMA, and organizational governance requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement the appropriate balance of AI-enabled and human-supported workflows.
  • Equip CET and Brand Delivery teams with the content, coaching resources, simulations, and performance-support tools needed to enable learner success.
  • Build strong relationships across Business Units, CET, Launch Excellence, Commercial Operations, regional stakeholders, and content partners.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment activities across internal teams, vendors, SMEs, and governance stakeholders.
  • Influence decisions and drive outcomes in a highly matrixed environment without direct authority.
  • Support activation excellence while respecting the ownership boundaries of delivery, facilitation, and execution teams.
  • Define activation success measures aligned to portfolio priorities and intended business outcomes.
  • Utilize available readiness, learner, and performance data to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor activation adoption, content utilization, enterprise reuse, efficiency, and scalability trends.
  • Continuously optimize content strategies, activation approaches, and portfolio-routing decisions based on data and stakeholder input.
