Requirements
Students currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science or related majors
A natural curiosity for how hardware works and fails, with a willingness to engage in hands-on disassembly and inspection.
Have a foundational understanding or strong interest in Mechanical Hardware design, function, and failure analysis
Strong communication skills - written and verbal
Nice To Haves
Comfortable reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings, experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, including 3D modelling.
Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing. Ideally machining industry - Molding and / or metal fabrication processes.
Practical interest in Mechanical hardware, Server racks / Mechanical systems
Responsibilities
Perform Form/Fit/Function analysis of Dell enterprise level hardware using advanced techniques in the lab and factory environment.
Identify root causes of failures and through destructive & Non-destructive analysis.
Conduct precision dimensional inspections utilizing a range of metrology tools, including Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) arms, 3D optical scanners, calipers etc., to validate component tolerances.
Use optical microscopes, 3D CT X-ray, Scanning Electron Microscope, mechanical force & hardness testers to investigate and resolve quality issues.
Deliver fast-turn analysis to support data-driven decisions, minimizing risks to customers and operations.
Benefits
The rate for this role is $21.80-$24.20/per hour for Bachelors and $37.42/hr for Masters.
