About The Position

The purpose of this role is to execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments. The individual will stay informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions. This role involves providing quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision making within an emerging markets trading desk. It requires applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimize the systematic trading process, and developing and implementing quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends. The VP will optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets, work with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customized solutions, and conduct in-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics. Additionally, the role involves providing front office infrastructure support through ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries, and offering subject matter expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.

Requirements

  • Provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision making within emerging markets trading desk.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of buy and sell orders or pricing of liquidity in various financial instruments while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
  • Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
  • Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.
  • Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to gather insights and information for trading decisions.
  • Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
