The Securitization Financing group within RBC Capital Markets is a global business that provides underwriting, asset securitizing, liability management, and ABCP issuance execution. This group collaborates with investment banking, derivatives, equity capital markets, and sales and trading teams worldwide to advise clients and optimize execution across their capital structure. The Summer Analyst Program in Securitization Financing is a 10-week internship designed for bright and talented undergraduates, offering in-depth, hands-on experience alongside experienced market professionals. We seek well-rounded individuals with strong academic records, attention to detail, the ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment, proven technical and analytical skills, and diverse extracurricular involvement. Essential qualities also include strong communication skills, leadership potential, initiative, and the ability to be a key team player in a fast-paced, challenging setting.

Requirements

  • Top grades in a four-year US college or university program (rising Junior or Senior status).
  • Basic market knowledge and a demonstrated keen interest in capital markets.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Extremely motivated and able to take initiative to identify ways to add value and improve practices.
  • Problem-solving skills, business sense, and the ability to multi-task & prioritize in high-pressure environments.
  • Positive attitude with willingness to perform beyond what is being asked.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of financial mathematics and concepts.
  • Technical knowledge of programming/coding languages.
  • Knowledge of accounting and ability to interpret financial statements.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg.

Responsibilities

  • Develop ideas and market insights to support various levels of the Securitization Financing business.
  • Support the SFPM team with collateral monitoring and analysis.
  • Assist with ABCP conduit vehicle management.
  • Prepare ABCP Investor and Rating Agency reporting.
  • Provide operational oversight.
  • Work closely with the Origination and Conduit Funding sides of the business.
  • Perform asset monitoring, collateral performance analysis, and borrowing base compliance for a portfolio of securitization transactions across various asset classes.
  • Assist with the daily management and administration of multi-seller asset-back commercial paper conduits.
  • Prepare complex reporting for ABCP Investors, Rating Agencies, and other internal/external parties.
  • Support Origination and Conduit Funding teams with closing, funding, and monitoring live client securitization transactions.
  • Collaborate with senior bankers, traders, and portfolio managers to understand the business.
