About The Position

RBC Capital Markets is seeking summer analysts for its 10-week Global Markets Summer Program. Interns gain hands-on experience and practical training while working with experienced market professionals, with career-building mentorship throughout a structured rotational program. Opportunities span Global Equities, Fixed Income, and Currencies & Commodities, with roles across product groups and markets. The program is intended for energetic, talented undergraduate and graduate students with strong academic records, technical and analytical skills, communication abilities, initiative, leadership, and the ability to contribute in a fast-paced team environment.

Summer analysts help analyze markets, monitor trading services, and develop products to help clients maximize market performance across asset classes. Desk responsibilities and projects vary. The position is based in New York, and the stated work schedule is 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Top grades in a four-year U.S. college or university program, entering the final year upon completion of the program.
• Basic market knowledge and a demonstrated keen interest in capital markets.
• Strong research abilities and excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Motivation and initiative to identify ways to add value and improve practices.
• Problem-solving skills, business sense, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in high-pressure environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Technical knowledge of programming or coding languages.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop trade ideas in equity and fixed income products.
• Aggregate sector and market news flow.
• Update corporate and analyst marketing data.
• Provide client feedback reports and brainstorm solutions.
• Engineer tools and streamline processes to improve efficiency.
• Analyze data and prepare summaries of overall changes in market positions.
