About The Position

The Director of Logistics is responsible for establishing and leading OmniOn’s global logistics and transportation capability across North America, Latin America, and Asia, supporting a complex, multi-region operating footprint. This role will serve as a Logistics Center of Excellence (CoE), defining enterprise standards, policies, governance, and performance metrics that enable reliable execution, revenue predictability, and financial discipline. Reporting to the SVP of Operations, this leader will oversee all modes of transportation (air, ocean, ground, parcel), third-party carriers, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and global trade compliance. The role requires a strategic, hands-on operator with deep transportation expertise, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to build scalable, globally integrated logistics processes that improve service reliability, cost visibility, and S&OP alignment.

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of progressive logistics and transportation leadership experience in complex, global operating environments.
  • Deep expertise across all transportation modes with demonstrated success managing global carrier networks.
  • Proven ability to build enterprise standards, governance models, and scalable logistics capabilities.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including freight cost management, forecasting, and recovery.
  • Demonstrated success leading through influence across planning, sourcing, operations, finance, and IT.

Responsibilities

  • Own OmniOn’s global transportation strategy across air, ocean, ground (LTL/FTL), parcel, and intermodal channels supporting operations in North America, Latin America, and Asia.
  • Lead sourcing, qualification, and ongoing management of third-party carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers across regions.
  • Negotiate transportation contracts, rates, and service-level agreements to optimize cost, service reliability, and capacity.
  • Develop contingency, risk mitigation, and capacity strategies to address demand variability, geopolitical disruption, and trade volatility.
  • Establish and lead a global Logistics CoE, defining enterprise policies, standard operating procedures, and execution discipline while enabling effective regional execution.
  • Implement KPI-driven performance management, including on-time delivery, freight spend, premium freight usage, cost leakage, claims, and compliance.
  • Drive accountability through structured performance reviews with carriers and cross-functional partners.
  • Partner closely with Planning, Operations, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to align transportation execution with S&OP and S&OE processes.
  • Improve shipment predictability, service reliability, and customer fulfillment performance through tighter planning and execution alignment.
  • Reduce premium freight and expedite reliance by strengthening cross-functional coordination and execution discipline.
  • Build end-to-end visibility into all logistics-related costs, including freight, accessorials, duties, brokerage, and premium freight.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure logistics costs are accurately forecasted, tracked, recovered where applicable, and reported consistently.
  • Identify and execute cost optimization opportunities, including lane rationalization, carrier mix optimization, mode shifts, and elimination of freight and logistics cost leakage.
  • Provide leadership oversight for global trade compliance, including import/export regulations, customs brokerage, tariff and duty exposure (e.g., Section 301), and documentation requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure compliant, cost-effective trade strategies aligned with OmniOn’s global footprint.
  • Proactively assess and mitigate regulatory and tariff-related risk while supporting growth and customer commitments.
  • Lead the deployment and ongoing optimization of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) as an enabler of end-to-end visibility, execution discipline, and performance management.
  • Ensure high-quality data, analytics, and reporting to support decision-making, cost control, and service improvement.
  • Partner with IT to drive system integration, continuous improvement, and scalable digital logistics capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong, performance-based relationships with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, and 3PL partners.
  • Hold external partners accountable through data-driven metrics, reviews, and continuous improvement expectations.
