About The Position

Hatch currently has an opening for a Global Lead – Bus Operations and Service Planning in our Denver, CO office. This position will support bus operations and service planning projects such as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), bus network redesign, zero emission transition planning, microtransit, and paratransit. Candidates are not required to have experience in all areas highlighted in this posting. This is an intermediate position requiring 10+ years of experience. The ideal candidate is a motivated, results-driven professional interested in operational planning, zero emissions technologies, environmental issues, managing projects, building business opportunities, developing client relationships, and delivering technical expertise and value to our partners and clients. Being capable of working well with other employees or independently as well as strong oral and written communication skills when interacting with outside vendors and clients is essential for this position. Candidates should be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality.

Requirements

  • BS degree in planning or other related degree.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
  • Experience working with major transit agencies.
  • Experience completing network redesigns of bus networks.
  • Experience planning for new BRT service.
  • Experience with business development and proposal development for consulting work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects related to bus operations and service planning.
  • Provide technical expertise to support cross-discipline project teams planning, designing and implementing bus and paratransit solutions for our clients.
  • Complete cost estimates associated with planned projects.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on bus fleet planning.
  • Develop cost estimates and life cycle analyses to assess existing bus operations.
  • Review technical documents such as design plans and other engineering related deliverables.
  • Produce quality assurance plans and oversee quality control programs.
  • Prepare technical documents/reports and present to clients, project teams, etc.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Continuous, effective communication and relationship building with clients in the development and implementation of projects.
