About The Position

The Global Key Account Manager - Softlines role at SGS focuses on retaining and nurturing key customer relationships to become a strategic partner and advisor. The goal is to discover new opportunities for mutual benefit and sustain accelerated growth targets. This involves working closely with various C&P SL locations, business departments, and client stakeholders to maintain and expand business with significant clients. Business development will occur not only through existing clients but also by identifying potential customers within the Softlines industry in Italy. The role requires developing a network of contacts, researching market opportunities, and overseeing growth projects. A key aspect is helping to build strategy and plans for business growth across all Softlines segments in Italy, maximizing revenue share opportunities, and supporting the growth of SGS's global business in Italy for all services where possible. The position involves monitoring and reviewing assigned accounts to ensure service levels and identify areas for improvement, transferring VOC (innovative solutions and tailored services and tools) to the Global Technical Team and other relevant parties, and establishing effective working relationships with global and local colleagues. The role also supports business development and marketing teams on promotions and events, prepares and executes marketing and brand recognition strategies, and effectively communicates client penetration and account management strategies with the senior management team. Regular reports and revenue forecasts are required, along with generating revenue growth opportunities within global accounts consistent with SGS Business Unit Strategy and key account initiatives. Ensuring the alignment and integration of services and operational deliveries with global C&P and sales strategies, and working in conjunction with C&P sales, operations, and other client services staff to achieve client deliverables are also crucial. Meeting assigned goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) is expected.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience within multinational organizations, preferably in Softlines or fashion/luxury sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the global Softlines industry, with proven exposure to high-end / luxury fashion brands are mandatory.
  • Demonstrated track record in sales (hunting), key account management, and/or program management, with the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
  • Strong capability in market research, competitor analysis, and identifying emerging trends to drive strategic growth.
  • Proven success in managing and growing key accounts, delivering revenue growth and long-term client partnerships.
  • Strategic thinker with strong planning skills, results-driven mindset, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Team player with high ownership, accountability, and a passion for driving impact.

  • Produce & present regular reports and revenue forecasts.
  • Generate opportunities for revenue growth within global accounts consistent with SGS Business Unit Strategy, and specific strategy for key account initiatives.
  • Ensure the alignment and integration of services and operational deliveries in accordance to global C&P and sales strategies.
  • Work in conjunction with C&P sales, operations and other client services staff (EA’s, SA) to achieve client deliverables.
