Global Indirect Tax Director - VAT

About The Position

As the Global Indirect Tax Director, you’ll deliver tax planning, consulting, and compliance services for multiple clients. You’ll collaborate with the Sales and Use Tax team and lead staff on tax matters and all phases of project and engagement management, using the company’s tools and resources to meet client needs. The role oversees numerous client projects and tasks simultaneously, supports and leads professional development and training, and contributes to business development through sales presentations and pursuit activities. Directors are expected to manage multiple project tasks, while project managers are ultimately responsible for overall projects and deliverables. Travel may be required as needed.

Requirements

Minimum ten years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience.
CPA, JD, or Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage various project tasks at the same time.
Strong computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

Respond to inquiries from state and other tax authorities.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and client management, gather information, and perform tax services.
Lead team members in promptly resolving client problems or tax issues encountered during the preparation process.
Understand client operations, processes, and business objectives and apply that knowledge to engagements.
Attend professional development and training sessions regularly.
Oversee numerous client projects and tasks simultaneously.
Lead professional development and training sessions regularly.
Lead sales presentations for existing and prospective clients.
Support business development activities, including identification, proposal development, and other pursuit activities at clients.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel as needed.
