Corteva Agriscience is seeking a Global Income Tax Accounting Leader to join our Finance Department. This position is based in Wilmington, DE and offers a hybrid work arrangement (in office three days per week). The Global Income Tax Accounting Leader is responsible for leading the company’s global income tax accounting and reporting process under U.S. GAAP (ASC 740). This role has primary responsibility for managing the quarterly and annual income tax provision, including the effective tax rate, deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, and related disclosures. The position directly manages a small global tax accounting team and provides leadership across a broader group of stakeholders involved in the provision process, including U.S. and foreign tax, controllership, and finance teams. While the role operates with technical oversight and partnership from the Director, the Global Income Tax Accounting Leader is accountable for day-to-day execution, coordination, and delivery of global tax accounting results. The position serves as the primary technical authority for income tax accounting, provides strategic leadership across global tax reporting activities, and partners closely with U.S. compliance, planning, treasury, FP&A, controllership, and auditors. This leader also plays a key role in evaluating the tax accounting impact of business initiatives, legislative and regulatory changes, and complex transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in income tax accounting and reporting, including leadership responsibility.
  • Deep expertise in ASC 740 and SEC reporting for a multinational, publicly traded company.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. and international income tax concepts and their financial reporting implications.
  • Proven experience leading the global tax provision process and managing complex technical issues.
  • Experience with tax provision and reporting systems (e.g., OneSource).

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced tax degree (e.g., Master’s in Tax, JD, or LL.M. in Tax).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Big Four public accounting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the global quarterly and annual income tax provision process under ASC 740.
  • Manage global ETR & cash tax forecasting, reconciliations of deferred taxes and income taxes payable, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Manage non-GAAP and investor focused reporting, including adjusted ETR calculations and tax impacts of non-recurring items.
  • Prepare and review income tax disclosures and supporting documentation for SEC filings (Forms 10 Q and 10 K).
  • Directly manage and develop a small global income tax accounting team.
  • Provide functional leadership and coordination across indirect contributors to the provision process.
  • Establish clear timelines, responsibilities, and review protocols to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
  • Apply income tax accounting guidance to complex and non-routine transactions and evolving fact patterns.
  • Support assessment and implementation of tax law and regulatory changes impacting financial reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance global tax accounting policies, controls, and documentation in compliance with SOX and audit requirements.
  • Partner with tax planning, U.S. and foreign tax compliance, controllership, FP&A, and treasury on business initiatives and transactions.
  • Participate in cross functional discussions to evaluate tax accounting impacts on earnings, forecasts, and strategic decisions.
  • Coordinate with internal & external auditors and support all income tax accounting related audits and reviews.
