Specific Job Summary The Manager, Income Tax Accounting & Compliance, executes U.S./U.S.V.I. and/or non-U.S. income tax accounting and compliance processes that support accurate, timely, and compliant tax reporting aligned to MVW’s strategic business and financial objectives. The Manager contributes to ASC 740 tax accounting processes and the end‑to‑end delivery of the Company's U.S. federal, state, U.S.V.I. and/or non U.S. income tax compliance obligations. This includes quarterly and annual tax provisions, return‑to‑provision analysis, internal control effectiveness, audit readiness, and the accurate and timely filing of corporate and timeshare association tax returns. Assists with tax audits and notices, GAAP‑to‑tax reconciliations, tax technical analyses, and documentation of MVW’s positions across U.S. and non‑U.S. jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or similar discipline or equivalent work experience required.
  • At least five years of progressive work experience in tax accounting and/or compliance or corporate tax experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. federal, state, U.S.V.I. and/or non-U.S. income tax laws.
  • Experience supporting tax provision or tax compliance processes preferably for publicly traded companies.

  • Communication Skills – Clearly conveys technical tax concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality results for all assigned aspects of the tax accounting and reporting (ASC 740) process and the income tax compliance process for quarterly and annual filings.
  • Maintain strong tax governance, controls, and documentation.
  • Support audit readiness and responds to auditor inquiries with timely and well-prepared analyses.
  • Assist with return-to-provision workstreams ensuring accurate data and timely issue resolution.
  • Provide timely and responsive support for business initiatives and tax technical questions.
  • Identify potential tax risks and escalate tax opportunities or concerns.
  • Contribute to team development through knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to automation and standardization through technology and standard work, reducing manual touchpoints and operational risk.
  • Build cross‑disciplinary relationships across compliance, planning, and controversy teams to improve accuracy, consistency, and strategic outcomes.
  • Prepares assigned components of the quarterly and annual income tax provision, including current and deferred tax calculations, valuation allowances, and return-to-provision adjustments.
  • Supports consolidation of U.S. and non-U.S. results for financial reporting purposes.
  • Contributes to analysis of book to tax adjustments to be utilized for periodic estimated payments, quarterly tax provisions, and annual income tax returns.
  • Assists with preparation of supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assists with preparation of U.S. federal, state, U.S.V.I. and non-U.S. income tax returns and supporting schedules.
  • Prepares GAAP-tax reconciliations and supports accurate return-to-provision reporting.
  • Supports SOX and internal control compliance and documentation requirements with tax accounting and compliance processes.
  • Assists with process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax accounting workflows.
  • Conducts basic tax research to support accurate and compliant filings.
  • Assists in analyzing tax accounting and compliance implications of strategic initiatives and business decisions across MVW.
  • Prepares supporting audit documentation and responses to audit inquiries.
  • Supports identification of tax planning opportunities and risk mitigation strategies aligned with the company’s risk tolerance and financial objectives under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Contributes to due diligence and post-transaction integration activities for tax accounting positions for acquisitions and divestitures as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Accounting, and external auditors to support financial statement disclosures and audit readiness.
  • Coordinates with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants to ensure consistent positions and efficient execution.
  • Prepares clear, concise summaries, and analyses for review.
  • Contributes to a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Supports workload planning and execution across reporting cycles to help ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Participates in special projects, transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and process improvement efforts.
