About The Position

Wego is seeking a transformational and strategic Global Head of IT, Digital, and AI to shape and execute plans for sustainable growth. This role owns the Information Technology (IT) function globally and sits on the Senior Leadership team (SLT), operating as a business leader first and technology leader second. The primary accountability is driving revenue growth, margin expansion, and competitive differentiation. Wego has invested in core systems and IT staff but needs improvement in process governance, systems architecture, and unified design of its operating model and customer experience. The Global Head of IT will build and lead a world-class technology strategy to drive global IT transformation, including re-engineering customer experience, optimizing foundational systems, employing digital technologies, modernizing IT infrastructure, ensuring effective cybersecurity, and forging strategic commercial relationships. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, business sense, technology and leadership skills, and execution capability. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking business technology leader with a builder mindset and a strong customer service philosophy, excited to build an IT organization and make a high impact in an essential business at an inflection point.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively expanding senior executive IT leadership.
  • Extensive experience in industries with sophisticated supply chain capabilities including manufacturing, distribution, or retail business models.
  • Experience leading an IT team of internal and external resources in a globally distributed organization, supporting a global employee base.
  • Deep experience implementing and owning ERP, TMS, and CRM systems is a must.
  • Systems thinker with a strong understanding of IT enterprise architecture and process excellence.
  • IT optimization experience is a must, including foundational IT governance (e.g., budgetary, project management, business-aligned IT demand management, strategic supplier relationships, etc.).
  • An outstanding people leader, capable of attracting, developing, and retaining IT talent and building a performance-driven culture.
  • Strong executive-level influencing skills with a high level of energy, integrity, and dedication.
  • Deep experience partnering with business leaders at all levels to ensure transformation efforts are fully adopted by the organization.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and with the ability to adapt nimbly and lead through complexity.
  • Business-minded leader focused on growth, efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.
  • Proven ability to implement practical, ROI-driven AI across core business operations.
  • Pragmatic, execution-oriented leader who can balance strategy with operational delivery.
  • Excellent written and oral communicator, with strong emotional intelligence and an ability to connect with non-technical peers clearly and persuasively; exemplary storytelling skills.

  • Experience in B2B distribution or global trade businesses is a big plus.
  • Oracle Cloud, OTM, and Salesforce experience are a big plus.
